Registration – participation

The conference will be held in-person.
In any case plenaries/semiplenaries will be broadcasted online (free of charge).
We can consider having online presentations in parallel for participants who are unable to travel due to restrictions, health issues, parental care, or other critical reasons.

A registration fee is due by those who will present a paper, selected among those who submitted an abstract. This will include acknowledgement and abstract publication in the scientific programme, conference materials, coffees and lunches on the conference days, and other services. 

A limited number of complimentary (free) tickets is available for students (student card needed), NGO members, civil society members and journalists. The complimentary tickets will not give access to lunches, coffee breaks, and other services.

Students, NGO and civil society members can book their conference meals (coffee breaks and lunches) through the button below. Meal payments can be made by card directly on site at the conference service desk.

Meals must be booked by the 8th of June.
Meals booked after that date cannot be guaranteed.

Journalist also need to book, but will get meals offered after showing their press card (tesserino) to the conference service desk.


Please consider also that the third and fourth conference day, 16th-17th of June, are local public holidays in Pisa and high season in hotels. We recommend that participants book travel and accommodation well in advance!

Sustainable travelling to the conference (only for ordinary tickets)

We will acknowledge a discount to those who will exhibit their train/boat/coach tickets at the registration desk.
The discount will depend on the (one-way) travelled distance, according to the following scheme:

50 – 200 km: 10€
201-400 km: 15€
401-600 km: 20€
601-1000 km: 30€
1000 -1500 km: 40€
over 1500 km: 50€

Invitation letter

Please note! If you need an invitation letter for visa application, fill the form at this link before you make the payment. You will specify there the details we need for inviting you, e.g.. name, surname, institution, and also if you are an author of an accepted paper, if you will present it, or if you will come as a listener, etc. Sending your request before 26 March 31 March will entitle you to early bird registration fee also if paying after.

Methods of payment

Credit cards or bank transfers. All payments must be made in euros (EUR).


Please note that the meeting participants are not covered by any insurance (travel, medical, accident or liability) taken by the Meeting Organisers. The Meeting Organisers cannot accept liability for any loss or damage suffered by any participant or accompanying person or another person during travel to and from the meeting or during the meeting. Participants are advised to consider purchasing their own travel insurance and to extend their personal policy to cover personal possessions.


Cancellation must be requested via this form Conference Service (Ara Congressi). If requested by 31st of May 2022 a processing fee of 50€ will be retained. After this date a fee of 100€ will be applied.

In the event that the meeting is cancelled by the meeting organisers, or cannot take place for any reason outside the control of the meeting organisers, the registration fee shall be refunded in full. The liability of the meeting orgstaniser shall be limited to that refund.

Modifications to registration

Any modification to a completed registration should be submitted through the Communication to the conference service form.

Dinner ticket

The dinner ticket can be purchased together with the registration. If you already registered and wish to buy your dinner ticket separately, please fill in this form (members only, one accompanying person allowed).

Dinner tickets are reserved for ESEE/ISEE members until the 8th of May. After that date, remaining tickets will be available also for non-members.

Late payments – late registration (on site)

Registration closes on the 31st of May.

Payments of registered delegates must arrive by the 6th of June.

LATE REGISTRATION: Payments for late registration will be made on site, with credit card only.
